Treatment protocols often mandate stepwise therapy starting with low cost products. The probability of reaching treatment goals often vary with each step in the treatment protocol. Depending on disease severity, moving more rapidly to later products in the treatment protocol, or starting with these products, may be more cost effective, allowing patients to reach treatment goals earlier and at lower total cost.
Deliverable: An Excel-based model that calculates cost effectiveness measures such as mean time and cost to reach goal, based upon comparative treatment protocols, distributions of disease severity, product efficacy and cost. Optional: manuscript suitable for publication.
